“non – The First Warp” is a Bizarre Alien Puzzle Game

“non – The First Warp” is a unique puzzle platformer released this summer. It stirs up themes of hypnagogic-like environments and alien sci-fi worlds, that feel like a strew of estranged organs and strange puzzles. Okay, I’m in. Play a purple alien in this squishy puzzle environment, where clues seem to live within the structure of the game like some giant biological telephone book. non – The First Warp never seems to push the envelope to uncomfortable levels with its weirdness, but it will require innovative puzzle-solving. Like on the level of classics like the game Myst. Am I comparing… Read the rest

Timothy Vs The Aliens Might be the ONLY Noir Alien Invasion Game

Timothy Vs The Aliens is a moderate difficulty action-adventure that takes place in a 1940s’ish era gangster-ruled city. Timothy, the protagonist, is a likable ace who derives superhuman luck from an ace of hearts given to him by a race of alien masters when he was a child. In this hardboiled work, worlds and their creatures are in separation by fluorescent color, googly-eye aliens, and the stark black-and-white nighttime of the city in which Timothy resides. The story & introduction is straightforward, but the real main draw of this game is the action. Using old-school weapons, it’s up to you… Read the rest

I Watched an Old VHS Documentary From the 80s About UFOs To Test My VCR

Okay, it’s official, the VCR is ONLINE. This idea came to me in a late-night deep meditation. I was thinking: what can I do that’s a cut above the rest? My Ancient Aliens review was a blast. Perhaps I could find something that would be a little less obvious. So, anyway, here it is. I got this RCA VCR on eBay as well as a few VHS tapes to test and I got started. Out of sentimentality, I am continuing the UFO theme with a two-tape set documentary called UFOs Miracle of the Unknown. It was more interesting than I… Read the rest

Best of Ancient Aliens on DVD is What I Watched Today

Well, howdy, friend. I suppose you reckoned I’d done gone and disappeared in a seamless maelstrom deep in the great sea. Well, I haven’t. I am back from my unexcused absence, and we’re going to be doing some things differently. Before I continue, let me just clarify, that’s right I am reviewing Best of Ancient Aliens, the History Channel show. It is not an indie game, it is not even a game at all. There are several reviews all through Mr. Dave Pizza. It’s time to broaden the horizons though. Things were starting to get a bit robotic, so I… Read the rest

Cosmo’s Quickstop is That Out of this World Co-Op

Cosmo’s Quickstop is a game about working a summer job as an alien in your uncle’s intergalactic truck-stop–more or less, it’s actually more of a gas station with full service but this is my review, hands off. One thing I really want to share is I have worked in the transportation industry doing stuff like is in this game, and the developers who created obviously know how these places work. The game has so many hilarious elements that whisk me into the past. If you gotta glorp, you gotta glorp. Some People Call Me The Space Pizza ALRIGHT, I’m getting… Read the rest

Slime Rancher, the Original Game, is the One That Started it All

You’re an adventurous protagonist named Beatrix who has settled down on her uncle’s ranch on an alien planet where the landscape is occupied by canyons of shiny cute blobs of a variety of species and value. Also some chickens. Which… some slimes eat. Moving on. Yer not from around here, are you? So, what is the point of this? Or the goal, to be a little more specific. Well, it’s basically a high-quality vacuum cannon survival sim. This game is super wholesome–and fun. The slimes remind me of the sparrows that visit our backyard in the daytime to get food… Read the rest
